Mubarak Mosque was established in 2018 on the southeast corner of Hurontario Street and Sandalwood Parkway in Brampton, Ontario. The two-storey, 10,000-square-foot mosque is a landmark for the city’s Muslim community, its 96-foot minaret and blue dome visible for blocks around. Today, the mosque serves a community of roughly 10,000 Ahmadi Muslims across Brampton and the surrounding Peel Region.
Mubarak Mosque is home to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, a global revival movement within Islam founded in 1889 by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, whom Ahmadi Muslims believe to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi foretold by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Community upholds the core beliefs and practices of Islam, including the Five Pillars, while working to revive the religion’s original teachings of peace, tolerance, and service to humanity.
Guided by the motto “Love for All, Hatred for None,” the congregation is an active civic partner in Brampton — organizing park clean-ups, food and blood drives, and fundraising for local hospitals. In 2022, the City of Brampton renamed a public park “Ahmadiyya Park” in recognition of the community’s contributions. Mubarak Mosque regularly hosts open houses, interfaith dialogues, and Holy Qur’an exhibitions, welcoming neighbours of every faith to learn more about Islam firsthand.
